The evaluation process must be in line with the principles of the health-promoting school. This tool shows how this can differ from the approach used to evaluate public health initiatives. Methods to use to collect evaluation data is suggested.

It encompasses the following topics: (1) Policy, strategy and management; (2) Action planning; (3) Implementation; (4) Evaluation and communication. It contains questions related to the internal affairs of the local authority as well as questions related to external stakeholders.
